5 great food delivery restaurants near Tanjong Pagar

You never need to leave your office ever again!

Back in the 2000s, the only places in Singapore that delivered food to your doorstep were the fast food restaurants and pizzerias: MacDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominoes’. It was a time where a short walk to the hawker centre or a bus trip to the mall for lunch was an everyday practice.

With the recent addition of FoodPanda, Deliveroo, UBEREats and other food delivery services, you can get your lunch or dinner delivered right to you at the click of a button, perfect for busy office workers who can’t afford time away from their desks, or self-conscious women who are afraid of exposing their porcelain skin to the Singaporean sun.

Each food delivery service charges a small delivery fee of about $3 to $5. Food will typically be delivered to your doors hot, piping and whetting your appetite.

This list is a curated look at the great food delivery options available for the people who live or work around the Tanjong Pagar area in Singapore.

1. Two Blur Guys
Source

Looking for burgers, fries, and other American classics? This popular restaurant in Orchid Hotel will definitely taste better than the conventional fast food delivery options.

Their burgers (or, as they cutely call them, blurgers) are pieced together from carefully curated ingredients. Order their signature, the Prime Beef Burger ($15.95), and you will be delighted with a juicy patty that overflows with flavour, complemented by savoury gruyere cheese. Their truffle fries ($8.90), are fully infused with premium truffle oil, enriching each strand of potato with the fragrance of luxury.

Other interesting blurgers from their menu include the Smoked Salmon ($12.50) and the Pulled Pork/Chicken ($14.85 / $12.85).

Delivery is available via FoodPanda, with a delivery fee of $3. The mimimum order is $15.

2. SaladStop!
Source

If you’re watching your weight, then you might feel more guilt-free ordering your lunch from this salad franchise instead.

SaladStop offers artisan salad at a decent price. Unlike other salad bars, you can’t select all the ingredients you want in your bowl, but instead choose from a wide variety of SaladStop’s custom salad options, such as their Singapore special Oh Crab Lah! Salad ($11.20), made with local fusions such as vermicelli and crab sticks, topped with a specially made chilli crab dressing.

Besides, salads, the place also offers their salad options in wraps, if you prefer biting into a wrapped delicacy instead of one mixed in a bowl. If you’ve set your heart on a wrap, we recommend the Omega 3 Baby! Wrap ($12.60), made with the wondrous smoked salmon, complemented with broccoli, cherry tomatoes, beetroot, red onions and sunflower seeds.

Delivery is available via FoodPanda, with a delivery fee of $3. The minimum order is $15.

3. Crave!
Source

Offering only the Singaporean all-time-favourite Nasi Lemak, Crave’s speciality is in its fine coconut rice and a zesty sambal chilli that gives the kick to the various meats you can choose from.

For those who detest picking out bones while eating chicken wings, Crave’s Chicken Cutlet Set ($5.90) is the dish of choice. Unlike other chicken cutlets, Crave’s has a soft, tender interior, matched perfectly by the light crunch of the crispy skin. Besides the chicken, rice and sambal chilli, the dish also comes with the traditional fried egg and ikan bilis on the side.

If you are intending to satisfy a huge appetite, Crave’s Nasi Royal Set ($6.90) should be your go-to. Instead of just the usual chicken wing, the set also comes with a piece of crispy Kuning Fish for all your oceanic vitamins, and the Malay fried potato, Bergedil. Together with rice, sambal chilli, ikan bilis and a fried egg, this combination of Nasi Lemak’s powerhouses will surely please your inner Singaporean.

Delivery is available via Deliveroo, with a delivery fee of $3.50. The minimum order is $12.50.

Source

A newly opened healthy-eating option, A Poke Theory focuses on Poke, or bowls with raw cuts of meat originated from Hawaii. Each bowl is completely customisable: you can choose a base (rice, quinoa or lettuce), and freshly cut chunks of meat (tuna or salmon with different flavours), topping it off with sauces and toppings.

Bowls start from $14.20, with the price changing according to which meats and toppings you order.

The toppings you can choose from will offer your bowl fresh textures. We recommend including tobiko (Japanese roe) for soft yet flavourful bites and wakame seaweed for a crispy undertone.

5. 5 Star Hainanese Chicken Rice
Source

This popular Zi-char restaurant now delivers with UberEATS, which means you can guess the Singapore signature Hainanese chicken rice delivered to your office and homes.

Their signature hainanese chicken rice ($7.92) is definitely a different grade from the neighbourhood chicken rice stalls you see around the island. The chicken meat is lean and juicy, though not fatty. Mix well with the sourchillii, and you have yourself a meal that will tempt you to devour it in seconds.

If one portion of chicken rice is not sufficient, you may instead opt to buy the chicken meat ($6.42 for one person’s portion, and $12.10 for two people’s portion) and the rice separately.

In their new menu, which is not yet available, you would be able to purchase combo meals. A one-person combo meal ($9.42) includes 1 plate of chicken-flavoured rice, 1 person’s portion of Kampong Chicken meat, and 1 serving of chicken soup.

There is no minimum order, and the delivery fee is $3.
