Muslim friends! You can now add another dish to your list of must-eats: Prawn Mee!
At Deanna’s Kitchen, they will serve you one of the best halal prawn noodles! Located at a Toa Payoh hawker centre in Singapore, it is a stall run by Deanna and her husband who wanted to share their own recipe that does not require the use of pork at all. Instead, they use seafood ingredients like prawn shells and anchovies to create their signature broth that is as good as its pork-based counterpart.
You can either get the Regular prawn noodle, Big prawn noodle, Very Big prawn noodle, Prawn noodles with Clams or Prawn noodles with Crayfish for reasonable prices! Choose between yellow mee, kway teow or bee hoon (or a mix!) and you will be served a generous bowl of goodness containing sliced fish cake, bean sprouts and veggies. Sprinkle some fried onions or add some chilli padi for an extra kick!
However, if you’re the kind that screams go big or go home, they have special off-the-menu item: The Seafood Platter. This is good for sharing with 3-4 people (or 2 starving people). Apart from containing the usual serving of standard prawns and clams, you will get 1 whole lobster and a choice of crayfish or big prawns. And not to mention, you will get a giant helping of noodles to go with this seafood feast. The sweet juices from the seafood will get infused into the broth adding even more richness and depth to the whole dish.
