With so many fish soup stalls in Singapore, it is hard to decide what is good.
At Han Kee, their broth is very clear yet saturated with a natural sweetness, unlike many other stores. They serve a generous number of thickly sliced fish at only $5. Trust me when I say “generous”. It’s like they are giving you more fish slices than the noodles or rice itself. Premium Batang fish slices are used, ensuring fresh and silky soft texture. The fish slices taste slightly sweeter when paired with the broth.
Being very honest, I personally feel that many patron Han Kee because of their fish slices itself and not for the soup. The quantity, quality and fragrance of the fish is beyond words. However, be prepared to wait in line as the queue for Han Kee can be very long, especially during lunch hour. Well, I don’t see why there won’t be a queue as their food is value for money.
