Overrun: The real chendol soft serve

Better than Mcdonalds

Just when you think you will never taste chendol ice cream again, you are wrong!

Mcdonald recently brought chendol soft serve to hype together with their nasi lemak burger; but did you know that chendol soft serve was already in the market before they sold it?

Overrun is a 100% Muslim owned, graffiti filled shop located along Baghdad Street. It serves mouth-watering Chendol flavoured soft-serve bringing back nostalgic days where 7-eleven’s Mr.Softee’s chendol ice cream was the in-thing for those born in the 80s or early 90s.

The luscious twirls of chendol flavoured soft-serve ($6) are topped with green rice flour jelly, coconut flakes and finished with gula melaka syrup. As we took the ice cream from the store assistant hands, we were afraid that some of the ingredients would fall out. Glad that our money was well spent with the cup being filled to the brim.

We loved how it had a distinct taste of gula melaka, yet wasn’t jelak. Overall, it was not too sweet making our soft-serve experience very enjoyable.

If you are a durian lover, you can also add on $1 for addition durian topping. To keep things interesting, Overrun serves one special flavour each week, tempting you to go back for more.

Stop missing Mcdonald’s chendol ice cream and try Overrun’s one instead. Overrun’s chendol soft serve will not disappoint you. Trust us, it’s yummlicious!
