Lobster rolls; something that most of us dreamed of trying them but absolutely cannot try because of the steep prices. However, that dream can be a reality at Chunky Lobsters where they serve their special lobster rolls at much more affordable prices!
Started in April this year by Leonard and Chris, they believe in making seafood in Singapore much more affordable so that everyone has a chance to try the legendary lobster roll. They recreate flavours of the New England Lobster Roll but tweaked slightly to suit the Singaporean palate. We’ve been waiting for this day too; check out what we ordered!
Now, if you want to enjoy the pure flavours of the lobster, get the Chunky’s Originals. It is the basic fluffy bread roll, spread with mayo, literally stuffed with lobster meat (90g worth of Canadian lobster!) and seasoned with lemon and their secret blend of herbs and spices. The seasonings bring out the naturally sweet flavours of the lobster and the mayo on the fluffy bread adds a little bit of richness to the whole roll. Once you sink your teeth into the delectable lobster roll, you will not be able to stop. It is so good.
If you want to the authentic Lobster roll as what you would find in the US, the Chunky’s Connecticut is for you. This time, the lobster meat is coated and drizzled with melted butter, just like how you would find the rolls in New England. It is richer, definitely much more buttery and you will still be able to taste the sweetness of the lobster meat!
And finally, something for the cheese lovers, the Chunky’s Cheesy. It’s really a lobster roll topped with generous amounts of melted cheese. The cheese concoction is made up of mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar and cheddar sauce, making the sauce gooey, and well, cheesy!
With all that cheese, just be prepared that it could get a little bit messy. All lobster rolls come with a side of cassava chips. And if that not enough, you can complete your meal with a drink and some soup! Top a little bit more to get a cup of refreshing lemonade together with your lobster roll. You can also get both lemonade and some creamy lobster bisque separately or together as a set with your rolls!
Though seats may be limited, these lobster rolls are the perfect food for takeaways, especially if you want to treat yourself during your lunch. The folks at Chunky Lobsters also plan to introduce new seasonal items on the menu like crabs to expand their repertoire of tasty, affordable seafood in Singapore. All the more reason to check them out and try out what they have to offer!
