Here is something different you can try: steam-potting — a trend in Hong Kong that has caught on in Singapore. You can try steam-potting at Steam Box located in Serangoon Gardens where you enjoy healthy, delicious and freshly steamed food.
Step inside and settle down in their modern and cosy restaurant! Each table has a custom built-in powerful steamer so that it can steam your food in a matter of minutes.
Before the actual steaming, the base of the steamer is filled with the congee flavour of your choice. You can choose between the century egg, pork rib and parsley or the clams, dried scallop and ginger flavour.
While your congee is slowly cooking away, now it’s your time to start steaming. Choose from a large selection of fresh meat, seafood, dim sum and more. All the food are served in colour plates where each plate has its own steam timings for it to be perfectly cooked. There are so many things to choose from, but we recommend the Vietnamese Crab Meat Rolls, Scallop with Cheese and Bacon, Phoenix Prawn and the Chef’s Marinated Bamboo Clam.
Don’t forget the congee! When you’re finally done with steaming your heart out, it’s time to end your meal with some congee. All the flavours and juices from the food during steaming are all absorbed into the congee. This deeply flavoured congee will be the perfect ending to your meal.
